Is it possible that “funk rock” could be touched by the power of the cross and radically speak life to a 21st Century generation? What began as a heartfelt desire in two musicians (Rick Settles and Rick Slye) who shared the same love for classic urban music and the vision to utilize it to proclaim the life-changing message of Jesus Christ would quickly become a living reality!

Sevenlove (which simply means, “God’s perfect love”) is an explosive Christian band that began in 1998 and hails from the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Though known for their distinct signature sound of funk rock, the plethora of musical influences that emerges from each individual member has created a powerful eclectic sound that crosses all racial, social and denominational lines-leaving the heart not only pulsating with excitement, but most importantly, reaching out inquiring to know the way, the truth and the life that is Jesus Christ!

Our musical sound is not traditional in terms of gospel, praise and worship, or even contemporary Christian but a mixture of all. We have a 70's-80's hard Funk Rock R&B sound that doesn't water down the Jesus lyrics. Our mission is to to utilize the tool of urban contemporary music to minister to those who wrestle with the issue of living boldly for Christ in this present world-while tearing down man-made traditions that have prevented people from appreciating God!
